Please follow these instructions to install and register your software (Thaw all your computers in Deep Freeze first, see Deep Freeze (PC)):

Step 1 - Go to: http://www.tech4learning.com/frames/eval_download.html, then select and download the appropriate installer for your computer.

Step 2 - Run the installation program. You will be prompted through the installation.

Step 3 - Open Frames from the Start menu on Windows or the Applications folder on Macintosh. You will be prompted to register on the first launch.

Step 4 - Enter the registration code provided above to complete the installation.

Step 5 - Register your new software to receive tips and tricks to get started!

If this does not keep the license between reboots or just suddenly starts asking for the license every time you start it up, follow the below instructions:

Step 1 - Thaw in Deep Freeze again (If it was frozen again after the first attempt). Open "Notepad" by searching for it without quotes in the Start Menu search bar and right click on it and choose “Run as Administrator”

Step 2 - Click "File" in the top right menu bar and choose “Open” 

Step 3 - Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tech4Learning\Frames X\Frames.ini" (The X represents the version of Frames you have installed. In my example I have Frames 6 installed so it would show up as "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tech4Learning\Frames 6\Frames.ini")

Step 4 - Go down the configuration file until you see the keyword #Frames.6.registrationKey=XXXX….., replace the XXXX…. with the actual license key make sure to include the dashes (for example 5RT6J9-AGSGLF-… etc.)

Step 5 - Also be sure at the beginning of the line remove the “#” symbol at the start of the license line

Step 6 - Altogether the new line with the license key should look like this “Frames.6.registrationKey=XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX” without quotes

Step 7 - Save the configuration Frames.ini file. If you are licensing several computers, you can copy this modified “Frames.ini” configuration file to the student computers using LanSchool so you don't have to do this on each computer one by one. See this guide on how to do this: Lanschool Sending files to all computers 

Step 8 - In the guide Set the “Send Files” section to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tech4Learning\Frames 6\Frames.ini" file without quotes and in the Student Destination folder you will also put it in the same directory on their computers “C:\Program Files (x86)\Tech4Learning\Frames 6\Frames.ini” without quotes in the "Custom Folder" field and check the box that says “Overwrite Student Files if They Already Exist” and click “Send Now”

Step 9 - Use Deep Freeze to freeze all of the computers again Deep Freeze (PC) (See section on how to Freeze them)

In summary this section shows how to modify the Frames.ini configuration file to put in the license key permanently by putting in the license key following the format listed in the above guide. Then to minimize autonomous one by one configuration, we push the configured Frames.ini with the license key in it to the same Frames install directory on each of the student computers so we don't have to do them one by one.
