Follow the steps below to install/update LanSchool Classic.

If your SmartLab Email and password do not work, you may require a password reset. In this case, login to your SmartLab Email and contact support@lanschool.com. Request that they reset your LanSchool Air password, and ask them to make sure the “Classic Licensing” tab is included in your LanSchool Air web portal.

If you do not know your SmartLab Email login credentials, or you do not know how to access your SmartLab Email, contact support@clsonline.com and we will be happy to assist.

  1.  Login here with your SmartLab Email and password: https://lanschoolair.lenovosoftware.com/?__hstc=81841417.bfc563f4f031b5bb56ab8554f4c1c802.1724332707281.1734645200077.1735917030068.26&__hssc=81841417.1.1735917030068&__hsfp=424417210&_gl=1*lcx99o*_gcl_au*MTk1NjczMTc5My4xNzM1OTE3MDI5
  2.  Select the “Classic Licensing” tab.
  3.  Select your language and latest version of LanSchool Classic.
  4.  Click Download Installers to download the ZIP file containing the installation files.
  5.  Locate the ZIP file in your downloads folder. Right click on it and select “extract all.”
  6.  A window will pop up. Click extract.
  7.  Open the folder, which is no longer zipped. Open the "Windows" folder contained within.
  8.  Double click on “Teacher.msi” to run the teacher application installer. selectedImg
  9.  Click Next
  10.  Read the license agreement that appears, then click I Accept, then Next.
  11.  Type in the Teacher channel number (1 to 16,000) Remember to choose a unique number for each classroom. Our labs usually use 1234. Leave “Check to configure advanced options” unchecked, and click next.
  12.  Make sure to check the boxes for the Edge and Chrome browser extensions. This allows LanSchool to limit web browsing in these browsers.
  13.  If desired, enable WIFI SSID Whitelisting.  When enabled, you will need to enter the desire websites by typing them in the lower box and clicking Add.  When this is enabled, students will be restricted to those sites and all other sites will be blocked.  This can be edited at any time in the teacher application, so you can add sites as needed. Click Next.
  14.  Leave the box “connect student to connection server” unchecked.
  15.  Do not check “enable a security mode.” Click next.
  16.  Check “ don't send problem reports.” Click next
  17.  Click Install. Click Finish to complete the installation.
  18.  Enter your license key, which is found on the “Classic Licensing” page where you downloaded the install files. Hit OK.
  19.  Reboot your computer to complete the process.

If you were updating LanSchool Classic, there is no need to change the student LanSchool installations. If this is a first time install, you will need to locate the Student.msi file at the same location where you found Teacher.msi. Place the Student.msi file on a USB flash drive, and install it on each student computer. Make sure the computers are first thawed in Deep Freeze, and make sure to use the same channel number (1234).
