Because SmartLab is moving to a new LearningHub platform this year, the existing shortcut on your Windows desktops will need to be updated. Follow the instructions below to do this.

If your lab has a server, you can use the Transfer drive to quickly update the shortcut on all computers. If your lab does not have a server, the best method will be to use LanSchool.

Updating the LearningHub Shortcut Using the Transfer Drive:

Step 1 - On the facilitator computer, right click on the LearningHub shortcut and select Properties

Step 2 - Delete the text in the Target field and replace it with "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" https://app.inkling.com/s/smartlab/library then hit apply.

Step 3 - Right click the shortcut again and click Copy

Step 4 - Open the desktop shortcut for Transfer by double clicking the icon. Right click in the black space in the Transfer Drive and select Paste

Step 5 - Thaw all the student computers in Deep Freeze. Instructions for this process are here: Deep Freeze (PC) 

Step 6 - On each student computer, open the Transfer shortcut on the desktop, then copy the LearningHub shortcut and paste it to the desktop. A prompt will ask if you would like to replace the existing shortcut, select Replace the file in the destination

Step 7 - Once the updated shortcut has been copied to all student computers, remember to freeze them again in Deep Freeze.

Updating the LearningHub Shortcut Using LanSchool:

Step 1 - On the facilitator computer, right click on the LearningHub shortcut and select Properties

Step 2 - Delete the text in the Target field and replace it with "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" https://app.inkling.com/s/smartlab/library then hit apply.

Step 3 - Thaw all the student computers in Deep Freeze. Instructions for this process are here: Deep Freeze (PC) 

Step 4 - Send the updated shortcut to all student computers through LanSchool. Instructions for this process are here: Lanschool Sending files to all computers 

Step 5 - On each student computer, find the updated shortcut which you sent through LanSchool. Then copy the LearningHub shortcut and paste it to the desktop. A prompt will ask if you would like to replace the existing shortcut, select Replace the file in the destination

Step 7 - Once the updated shortcut has been copied to all student computers, remember to freeze them again in Deep Freeze.
