Repair Network Drive Shortcuts
If the desktop shortcuts to connect to server network drives are not working please follow the steps below. If the computer in question is frozen in Deep Freeze, you will need to thaw it before continuing. Instructions for Deep Freeze are found here: Deep Freeze (PC)
Step 1 - Make sure you are logged into a domain account. To check this, log out and type or select the user account you wish to use. Before clicking enter to login, confirm that this screen says “Sign in to: XXX-SmartLab.Local” (Where XXX are the school's initials).

Step 2 - After logging in to a domain account, if the shortcuts are still not working, the shortcut properties will have to be adjusted to include the correct server hostname. The hostname will be "XXX-CLS-Server", where XXX are the same initials used in the domain. You can always confirm the initials that were used by hovering your mouse over the network symbol on the bottom right of the Windows taskbar to see your domain name.

Step 3 - Right click on the desktop shortcut for a network drive and click “properties.”
Step 4 - In the “Target” field, locate the server hostname. Check if the school initials are correct and match your SmartLab domain name. If they do not match, correct them, but do not change the rest of the Target. Click apply.

Step 5 - Repeat this for all Network Drive shortcuts.
