HP Printer Connection Issue
How to fix when the HP LaserJet printer is not connecting to the teacher computer and is not printing.
Follow the steps below to remove and re-add the printer.
Step 1 - Obtain the printer IPv4 address from the printer touch screen by going to > Setup > Network Setup > General Settings. Please note the menu path may be slightly different. Make a note of the IPv4 address.
Step 2 - On the teacher computer, open any web browser (Chrome or Edge) and enter in the IP address into the URL, press enter.
Step 3 - On the network tab > IPv4 Configuration > set the IP Preferred Address Method to Manual > Type in the Printer's new IP Address in the IP Address field shown below you obtained in Step 1 > click apply.

Step 4 - Click on the teacher computer's windows icon > search 'printers' and the option “Printers & Scanners” window should show up.
Step 5 - Click the remove option next to Picasso to remove the printer. Then click on add device > add manually.
Step 6 - Select add the printer using IP address or hostname.

Step 7 - For the device type choose TCP/IP > Enter in the printer IP, the hostname will auto fill in.

Step 8 - Select HP on the left > Install default driver. If HP does not show up, click to Search (this will take several minutes) > locate HP on the left then scroll through the list of printers on the right to find the model the school is using. Select to use the driver that is currently installed.

Step 9 - Change the printer name to Picasso. If you get an error saying there is already a printer named Picasso, reboot the computer (to clear the name out of memory) then try adding the printer again.
Step 10 - Select do not share the printer. Print a test page.

- Remove the Picasso printer you added, go back to the start menu > printers & scanners window. Wait to see if the default printer name loads on its own. If it does, choose the option to install it then go to printer properties and change it's name to Picasso. If it says the name is already taken, reboot the computer and try it again.
