Fixing Microsoft Edge Opening Tabs Automatically
There is a common bug in Microsoft Edge which causes new tabs to open automatically and repeatedly, interrupting the use of other applications. There are a few steps to take to fix this. Before proceeding, make sure the affected computer is thawed in Deep Freeze so that your changes will be saved.
Troubleshoot the issue:
Step 1 - Check for any updates in Edge. If updates are available, you'll see this logo on the top right of the window. Run available updates to Edge.

Step 2 - If updating Edge does not resolve the issue, try reinstalling Edge. The Edge installer is available for download here: Download Microsoft Edge
If neither of these options resolve the issue, you can choose to uninstall Edge entirely. Windows does not allow Edge to be uninstalled through the usual method, but you can follow the instructions below to do this. Note that Edge may be reinstalled automatically by Windows in the future, so if the issue returns it will need to be uninstalled again.
Uninstall Edge:
Step 1 - Make sure the computer(s) are thawed.
Step 2 - Open start menu and search "Powershell"
Step 3 - Right click on the application and select "Run as administrator"
Step 4 - Paste this text into PowerShell and hit Enter:
iex(irm https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/he3als/EdgeRemover@main/get.ps1)
Step 5 - Press 2 on the keyboard to uninstall Edge

Step 6 - Freeze the computers after this is complete.
Edge is now uninstalled, and will no longer open tabs automatically.
