Create LearningHub Shortcut (Scripted)
Easily create the LearningHub updated shortcut by running a script
We now have a script that can easily be run on all computers as Administrator to create the new LearningHub Shortcut
- Download the script here: Create LearningHub Shortcut and save it in a directory that exists on all the lab computers (including the Server) most commonly “C:\Users\Public\CLS” we will use this directory later for deployment on the remaining lab computers as they all share this directory.
- If you have a lab with Deep Freeze thaw the computers in the lab first, you can then run the script on all the Student computers, make sure they are all logged in first before running the script on them through Deep Freeze console on the Server (or in some cases Deep Freeze Console is installed on the Teacher computer in labs without a dedicated Server.
- Open LanSchool on the Teacher computer
- Select "Administer" in the top menu bar of LanSchool and select “Send Files to Student” make sure all the student computers you are sending the shortcut to are highlighted in green as shown in the screenshot

- Click the Browse button and select the location where you saved the script "C:\Users\Public\CLS" and select the script “Create LearningHub Shortcut 2025.ps1” ---- Under Student Destination Folder section choose Custom Folder and put in the same path so it is in the same spot on all the student computers "C:\Users\Public\CLS" as shown in the screenshot then click “Send Now”

Run the script on all computers all at once
- To actually run the script on all the student computers, select them all in the Deep Freeze Admin console, right click anywhere in the list with all selected and choose "Push and Launch" from the Drop Down menu
- Put in the entire path to the script, it should read “C:\Users\Public\CLS\Create LearningHub Shortcut 2025.ps1” without quotes as seen in the screenshot below and click ok, and confirm running it when it prompts you.

Refresh the student desktops and the LearningHub shortcut should be there
